CONVERSATIONS WITH MR. MOON
You hide a face that longs
to be seen by millions tonight.
You're in a place where space is vast
and vast is peace.
Tell me:
how does time fare with you?
Let me see the tides
that bear with you.
How do you speak to me
just by hanging in that sky?
How does a crescent state
capture to hypnotize my eyes?
You say I'm in a haze.
Yes, you have caught me.
You say you are lonely.
I still consider it a mystery.

TO PHOEBE,
THE LIGHT OVER AND INSIDE ME
Crescent,
Lazy and lonely.
But the sun lights you from behind
for me to see the beauty that you hold.
Half,
Glowing and grooming.
You speak soft in needing
something to find the missing piece.
Gibbous,
Growing in space.
Though in silence,
you speak louder for me to hear.
Full,
A powerful eye in the sky.
A force no one can relinquish.
To rule over stars and oceans
...and the earth.
