The Last Son of Krypton.

It's been quite a while since my last post. Not that anybody missed it. Not a lot of people read these stuff, anyway. I can probably count the ones who do and the fingers on one hand would be enough. More than enough, actually. Enough said.
Anyway, I've been wanting to post some of the 'interesting' things I've been thinking about for the past days (or is it weeks? can't remember..).
First, 'Superman' is dead. Yes, Christopher Reeve has passed away. And it would be hypocritical to say I was not affected. Mr. Reeve, representing that guy in the sky, was the one who inspired me during my childhood. He was, for me, the epitome of manhood. Most of all, he gave me the chance to delve into fantasy - the place where creativity is weaved, my 'Fortress of Solitude'. And even way after his paralysis, it's only now that I've come to know how brave he was. Cheers to you, Christopher! Fly Free.
In relation to Superman, Warner Bros has recently announced the new Superman in the new Superman Movie slated for a 2006 release. His name is Brandon Routh. And he is basically not that famous (yet) - like Christopher Reeve was before he donned that blue and red suit.
Also like Tom Welling, before accepting the role of teenage Clark Kent in Smallville. Speaking of Smallville... it just rocks!!! Hah! I've seen the whole last two seasons and it just keeps getting better. Episodes 1, 2 and 4 were good introduction to Season 4. But I can't wait to see Episode 5 (Run) where the young 'Flash' makes his appearance. If you're interested, you can check out a lot about 'Smallville' on this site: http://www.kryponsite.com/ Beware though, a lot of spoilers ahead.
Last one, here's a that great teaser poster for the 4th Season:
Peace!

THIS STRUCK ME.

Mel Gibson Granted Restraining Order Oct 7, 7:14 AM EST
The Associated Press
SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Mel Gibson obtained a three-year restraining order Wednesday against a homeless man who allegedly showed up at his estate and the chapel he attends, demanding they pray together.

Zack Sinclair, 34, has pleaded not guilty to six misdemeanor counts that include trespassing and disorderly conduct.

He remained in jail Wednesday without bail pending an Oct. 12 hearing.
The order bars him from coming within 100 yards of Gibson, his wife or their seven children, their home, Gibson's work, the children's school and the chapel. He also cannot contact the actor.

Sinclair allegedly went to the gate of Gibson's Malibu estate repeatedly in September after evading neighborhood security and asked to pray with the actor. He was first ordered away and then detained.

In a court filing, Gibson added that the man interrupted his worship on Sept. 19 at an Agoura chapel before the filmmaker's bodyguard escorted him out.

Sinclair also allegedly sent letters to Gibson and his family in which he recounted his prayers for the actor, cited biblical verse and praised Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ."

I don't know about you, but Gibson disappointed me.
I know, of course, that there might still be details to show the gravity of the situation.
But if there are none, I don't see why a rich man and a poor one can't pray together.

Tell me what you think.

"...Gusto lang namin makagawa ng kanta na hindi novelty pero makakanta pa din ng mga bata. Something universal pero hindi sell-out.” -Ebe Dancel

'Yun din ang gusto ko!
Putik ang galeng ng pagkasabe ni Ebe Sugarfree. And coming from him, that is one of the most intellegent & sensible yet simple phrases I've ever come across.

Dagdag ko na rin 'to:
"No matter how overwhelmingly bad things may seem at any particular time, you still have a choice to focus on the good things that are going on in your life.
...In any aspect of life, if you choose to concentrate on the things that excite you, there's always some form of reward.
...it's a reward that makes you feel right.
It's reassurance that you're doing the right thing." -Brandon Boyd

Whoa, huh? Kaya gusto kong nagbabasa ng mga interview ng mga iniidolo ko eh.
By sharing their thoughts, they inspire, they motivate. Their words drive people.
Galeng.

And it's not idolatry. Not even obsession.
Just finding comfort from the hearts of people with like minds. Whether sane or not.
And I would say - that is exactly the point of MUSIC.
